If you have been using Google over recent weeks then you may have noticed that the Search Engine giant has been testing various proposed layouts in the hope of making the appearance of the search results interface easier to read. They have done this by increasing the font size and removing the underlines for some of hyperlinked content.
Google would seem to be increasing the frequency of thee test with growing numbers of people using the search engine reported to have seen these updates via Twitter, Facebook and other social sharing platforms. The digital marketing team at Granite Digital have been able to replicate the new and existing designs by using both our native browsers or via incognito mode.
Below is a comparison of the old and new Google SERP interface. You will notice from the side-by-side comparison that the new layout has a distinctively larger font, increased white space, the underlined hyperlinks have been removed. What do you think?
